Center console

Combining bits and pieces from the two cars, I was able to cobble together a center console. A bit of SEM Landau Black vinyl dye and some black wrinkle finish paint made everything look nice again.

Those with sharp eyes will notice “FM” on the radio preset buttons. Roadsters only came with AM radios. This is an early 80’s Datsun Hitachi A-1551. I’m desperately trying to figure out the hook-ups! (see next page).

The vinyl on the shift plate was too far gone to save. The wrinkle finish is a nice alternative.

Wires for speakers have been
duct-taped to the floor. The
speaker box will house an  amplifier and RF modulator to  allow the use of an iPod.
