The rat seems happy to have her R-16 back in place! I’ve pulled and placed this motor about 4 times now. Each time it gets easier.

Next the head has to come off - there is a broken stud to remove (complete with broken-off Easy Out). So, off to the machine shop.

I’ve painted the area behind the grille satin black. I’m pretty sure this was painted with a brush in flat black at the factory, at least on the early cars. (There was also a bit of black applied to the dash where the windshield mounts on low-window cars.)

Many restorers leave this area in body color - I find it distracting to see it through the grille.
