I decided to go with the 2000 clutch and pressure plate from Dean at datsunparts.com.

I had the flywheel resurfaced and the pressure plate balanced to the flywheel. The machine shop tried to talk me out of balancing the pressure plate (the last shop I used insisted on it). It turned out to be only 10 grams off. I figure the $50 is worth it as I’ve had lots of comments about how smooth my 2000 with the balanced pressure plate is.

The new clutch feels great and this 1600 is a bit of a hooligan! It revs right up and is ready for more.
