It’s all in the timing

I cleaned and lubed the recurved distributor that was originally on the car and spent about 4 hours taking it in and out, trying to align the oil pump gear and get the slot at 11:25. Turns aout the manual is wrong and 12:00 is actually correct, according a few roadster gurus I talked to. The vacuum advance should end up perpendicular to the motor.

New cap, rotor, wires and spark plugs were added. Started right up and magically the carbs started pulling the same amount of air! A few tweaks and the engine sounds great!

A "T" from an inline coolant-flush attachment and some hose feed the gasses from the valve cover into the carbs.
