Stopping is good

Zippy’s brakes were a bit soft, so I ordered up new stainless flex lines, pads and shoes.

Starting with the rear brakes, I cleaned everything up and replaced the shoes. I found that one of the brake adjusters was broken, and the return springs for the parking brake were missing. I was able to scrounge up replacments from the parts stash.

The rear hard line from the body to the flex line over the diff would not seal and I finally rounded off the fitting trying to remove it. I bent up a new line, reusing the large fitting at the front end and flared the end. Finally got a seal.

Red marks the new brake line.
